Paint Failures
There are many reasons why paints fail in the application process
or degrade in a premature service life. MES provides failure
analysis of paints and coatings to discover the root cause of your
paint problems.
  
Cross sectional analysis by optical and scanning electron microscopy
is often used to diagnose interface issues in paint and coating
systems. Our FTIR and chemistry lab are used by our engineers to
determine if organic contaminants are present on a pre-coated
surface. If corrosion cells are present under the paint, we can
determine the type and composition of the corrosive
products.
